Shift Happens

    Some facts from this presentation:
  • The top 10 jobs we will have in 2010 did not exist in 2004 (as in, we are currently educating our children for jobs that don’t exist yet)
  • In 2004, Nintendo invested more than $140 million dollars in research and development, yet the US Government spent less than half that much on research and innovation in education
  • A week’s worth of content from the New York Times contains more information than a person was likely to come across in a lifetime in the 18th century.

Now you know.

Nice

Nice video man, that kind of melted my brain. The world is changing rapidly, its exciting and kind of scary. All those figures and predictions about the growth of computers and the human race in general are based on our progress in the last few years. Of course, none of us know what will happen if the oil runs out, or overcrowding sparks off civil unrest and wars, maybe the planet will find it increasingly hard to sustain us and global warming will effect populations. Many factors could stunt the growth that the video talk about. Just a thought.
